ZHP - operation "80"

2011-07-06 23:23 przez Aleksandra Joniec-Kur

On 24 May 2011 the President of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association (ZHP) together with the Chief Guide, the President of the National Auditing Committee, the President of National Scout and Guide Court as well as all the Region Commissioners of the Association decided to appeal to its members for a voluntary payment to repay the liabilities of the ZHP. (read the whole appeal here)

In recent months we have witnessed a stormy discussion about the members' obligations towards the association where the voluntary nature of their work and the mutual positive interaction, both being the principles of the Scout and Guide Method, have often been contrasted with the sense of enforcement resulting from the resolutions by the Association's authorities. There were voices for the need to encourage a sense of shared responsibility for our Association among the scouts and their leaders.

We May now respond to this appeal by the authorities of Polish Scouting and Guiding Association and share the responsibility.

We can now take the responsibility for our Association and make a tangible gesture - we can make a donation to clear off its debt.

With WAGGGS approval and support we are collecting voluntary contributions towards outstanding WAGGGS Quota

Dear Girl Guides and Boy Scouts,

I promise that all donations will be spent in accordance with the idea of 'resolution 80'. None of the money will be transferred to another bank account and all raised funds will be used for redeeming the commercial fixed investment bills of exchange and the repayment of public and legal liabilities.

Therefore, I do not propose a new promotional campaign. We can benefit from the existing publicity of the fundraising 'Operation 80', but this time with positive overtones.

Let's show once again that there are no projects too difficult to accomplish or problems too complex to be resolved positively in the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association.

My dear members, I strongly urge You to support the appeal and to actively engage in 'Operation 80'.

Lucjan Brudzyński, Treasurer of the Polish Scouting and Guiding Association
